Why Community

I began developing communities in 2012. As a young Cultural PR in a major bookstore chain, I was eager to meet others who shared my passion for books. However, I learned that it is more necessary to listen and guide than to demonstrate what you enjoy reading.

At that time, there was an effervescence about social media and a push to make everything digital.

But after a while, it wasn’t.

Meeting people in person and connecting with them was more fulfilling than an RSVP on a social networking platform. And I was even more inspired after attending a book launch where you could see and feel the excitement of the audience.

And it’s that vibe, that sense of community that I’m attempting to cultivate in any community, digital or otherwise.

Because we must use technology to empower and connect people, not to reduce them to numbers in a funnel.

What I Do

I design, develop, and research communities, and bring coherence and strategic plans to your community projects. I help product and service companies empower their users, build successful connections with new audiences, and act meaningfully to achieve these.
